Plaster Bird Mask Making (2 Day Workshop) Ages 8+

Student Fee: $90.00
Create a one of a kind mask inspired by our feathered friends. Artist Jen Swan will help guide you through the design, plaster construction and finishing mixed media and painted touches. You will learn techniques in portraying feathers as well as gain skills in drawing and sculpting various birds in this fun and whimsical workshop.
Each student will take away one mask at the end of this workshop.
Please note: This workshop meets 2 times: 2/4 & 2/11
This course is intended for youth ages 8 and up.

Jennifer Swan
Jen Swan is a teaching artist and mural painter who shares her love of art with the diverse community of Worcester and its surrounding cities and towns. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, she currently teaches classes for the Worcester Art Museum, Listening Wellness Center, The Overlook, LACI Homeschoolers and in many public and private schools as a Cultural Partner. Making connections between art and nature has also inspired collaborations with the Audubon and EcoTarium. Her recent paintings explore art and ecology as she portrays the web of interrelationships in our environment. Through plein air landscapes, botanical and wildlife studies, she wishes to creatively propose new possibilities for coexistence, sustainability and healing.Jennifer Swan
