About this course:

Demystifying Materials

From clay bodies to glazes, what is the "stuff" we work with and why. Through both empirical and theoretical demonstrations, we will examine the materials that make up our clay bodies and glazes and break down mysteries behind them. Presentations and demonstrations will include topics such as modifying your clay, what makes up a glaze, where does ceramic color come from, as well as why firing is so important. A great series of classes to help you take your understanding of ceramics materials to the next level.
