From morning coffee to late-night tea, green juice to something a little stronger, humans are deeply committed to beverages. In this workshop, we'll dive into the wonderful world of drinking vessels across two meetings, exploring how form shapes experience. What makes a mug feel cozy? Why does one cup make your drink taste better (or at least feel like it does)? When does a handle help, or get in the way? Meeting one will focus on working on the wheel; students will throw a variety of forms designed for sipping, chugging, cradling, and everything in between. We'll focus on proportion, lip shape, and balance. In meeting two, we will focus (of course) on handles and trimming, considering both function and personality along the way. Expect to test ideas and refine your forms into pieces you'll actually reach for every day (or rotate through, "beverage goblin-style").
Fee: $164.00
