The primary objective of this course is to build confidence in learning the most effective and proven techniques for successful Spoon Jewelry Work. This approach will guide you with hand tools only in learning:
1) How to make a spoon ring
2) How to prepare the spoon bowl for piercing work
3) How to cut with your wrist, not your arm
4) Why is it critical to always start cutting from the inside of the piece
5) Determining which blade to use depending on the thickness of the metal
6) How to cut/turn corners and not break a blade
7) Importance of always having your cutting blade at the right angle during cutting.
Finally, the instructor will share a recommended attitude to keep you motivated as we practice cutting in this session.
Students Should Bring: Silverware to make into Jewelry. Must be silver plated or sterling silver
No experience is required.
Please wear natural fiber fabrics, long pants, and closed-toe shoes.
*Youth Ages 14-17 may enroll in this course if they enroll with a parent/guardian. Parent/guardian must notify the registration office via email at wccregistration@worcester.edu

WCC Media Release Policy

Enrollment in one of our courses is consent to WCC using photos/videos of your class participation and/or art work in future advertising. If you would prefer WCC to not use photos of yourself or your enrolled family member, please let us know by filling out the media release form located on our website, and submitting it to wccregistration@worcester.edu
If there is a photographer in your course/workshop, kindly remind them that you have withheld consent to be photographed. If WCC is using your photo in current marketing and you would prefer it not to be used, please let us know by emailing wccregistration@worcester.edu
