Raising is the process of taking a flat sheet of metal and progressively hammering it over a forming stake to create a variety of 3D shapes - typically bowls, cups, pitchers, and other vessels, but there are nearly endless creative uses for this technique! In this class we will start with the basics and create a round, symmetrical cup or bowl starting with a 6" disc of copper. No previous metalwork is required for this class.

WCC Media Release Policy

We may occasionally use photos of students in promotional materials. Enrollment in one of our courses is consent to WCC using photos/videos of your class participation and/or art work in future advertising. If you would prefer WCC to not use photos of yourself or your enrolled family member, please let us know by filling out the media release form located on our website, and submitting it to wccregistration@worcester.edu
