Endless Imagery: Block Printed Pattern for Textiles

Dates: November 5-6, 2022

This workshop teaches the basics of designing and printing a handmade repeating pattern for fabric. We will begin with learning principles of pattern design, then transfer and carve single-color designs into linoleum blocks, and finally print those designs as repeating patterns on fabric yardage. Students will leave the workshop with a fabric sample that they can use in future projects.

Craft Center COVID Policy Acknowledgement

Every registrant will be expected to complete an electronic form included in their registration receipt acknowledging that they understand and agree to comply with the policies outlined. This form must be submitted no less than 48 hours prior to the start of the first class. If you have submitted this form for a prior registration, you do not need to submit another one.

Anna McNeary

Anna McNeary is an interdisciplinary artist and occasional curator, working in
printmaking, fiber, sculpture and installation. She holds an MFA in Printmaking from the
Rhode Island School of Design, and has exhibited at venues across the United States,
including Black Mountain College Museum & Arts Center’s {Re}HAPPENING Festival
(Asheville, NC), The Compound Gallery (Oakland, CA), Newport Art Museum (RI), and
International Print Center New York. Selected awards include a Post-Graduate
Apprenticeship at The Fabric Workshop and Museum (Philadelphia, PA), residencies at
Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts (Nebraska City, NE) and Santa Fe Art
Institute (NM), and a RISD Graduate Fellowship. She is currently based in Providence,
RI where she teaches at Rhode Island School of Design, and is a member of The Wurks
art cooperative.
