Intro to Weaving on a Frame Loom

In this workshop you will learn the many possibilities of creating woven fabric using a simple portable frame loom. We will begin by learning the basic techniques of tapestry and plain weave and then explore ways of creating pattern, shapes, texture, and various color effects in a woven fabric. At the end of the workshop you will leave with a variety of experimental woven samples and knowledge to continue exploring at home!

Lyza Baum graduated from RISD in 2016 with a BFA in textile design. She has worked for a variety of textile artists and now has her own studio in Providence, Rhode Island. She currently teaches in the textile department at RISD.
