In this class, students will gain a clear understanding of what underglaze is and how to use it effectively.
We’ll begin with a discussion of different underglaze brands and their unique properties, then focus
hands-on with [brand name] underglazes, which will be provided for class use. We will also discuss the
outcomes and success of underglaze in different firing temperatures.
Through guided demos and experimentation, students will explore a variety of application techniques,
learn how to mix and layer colors, and discover how different brushes and tools can impact their results.
Whether your style is painterly, precise, or experimental, this class will help you build confidence and
creative control with underglaze as a surface design medium.

Students will be need bring 3 to 5 leatherhard works to class. I suggest a light clay body for best results.
