During this 3 day morning workshop, young creatives will learn the basics of paper making and book binding while experiencing projects that introduce them to the world of artist books. The days will be filled with creative paper projects and art challenges such as making a bowl out of paper pulp or turning a paper lunch bag into a book! These projects will encourage students to think about what makes a book, a book? Students will learn a variety of skills including: book binding, paper making, paper marbleization, paper decoration, origami, story telling, and pattern design. The week will culminate in the creation of a hardcover sketch book that students can take home along with their other paper crafts.

Students can bring any recycled paper they want to use in their projects, think about collaging materials.

All materials provided. No prior experience necessary. Please wear closed-toe shoes. Please bring lunch & snacks if you are taking morning & afternoon classes.

This course is for ages 8-11.

Enrollment in one of our courses is consent to WCC using photos/videos of your class participation and/or art work in future advertising.
