Welcome to Guided Open Studios in the Metals Studio!
Please Note: This Course has PreRequisites
If you have taken a Metals course in 2024, 2025, or 2026, you are eligible to purchase studio time. You do not need to be enrolled in a 6-week class to participate in Guided Open Studios, but you are expected to work within your existing skill set. Completion of Jewelry/Metals 1 or departmental permission is required. A studio monitor will be present to provide guidance and ensure safe use of equipment. Participants are responsible for proper tool use, care, and clean-up. Experience with the studio’s specialized equipment is required; this may include air/acetylene torches, a rolling mill, a hydraulic press, an electro-etching system, polishing and finishing tools, lapidary machines, and more. We reserve the right to restrict equipment use if it is handled improperly. No refunds will be issued for restricted access. We may also limit the use of consumable materials. Materials and supplies are not included. Basic items such as solder, saw blades, metals, and stones may be available for purchase. Please note that access is limited to the Metals Studio only; other studios are not available during this time.
* Participants should complete clean-up within the 3 hour block. No refund or credit is given for time not used.*Metals Studio time does not include the use of the enameling kilns, 3D printers, gas forge, oxy/acetylene casting torch, casting equipment.
