Intaglio printmaking is a process in which the image is incised, scratched or etched into the surface of a plate. It takes drawing one step further, creating a reproducible image with seemingly endless possibilities. Over the span of the workshop, students will learn drypoint techniques on plexi-glass plates and experiment with different inking and printing possibilities through monotype and chiné-colle. Drypoint is a printmaking technique where a sharp stylus or needle is used to scratch lines directly into a metal or plastic plate. The scratches hold ink, and after printing using an etching press, the lines are perfectly transferred to the paper.

WCC Media Release Policy

We may occasionally use photos of students in promotional materials. Enrollment in one of our courses is consent to WCC using photos/videos of your class participation and/or art work in future advertising. If you would prefer WCC to not use photos of yourself or your enrolled family member, please let us know by filling out the media release form located on our website, and submitting it to wccregistration@worcester.edu
