- Avoid wearing man made fibers and bring a bottle of water with you to class. All glass classes take place at the Worcester Center for Crafts' New Street Glass Studio, 35B New Street, Worcester, MA 01605
Final pieces will need time to be annealed and cool before students can pick them up at the Glass Studio. To adhere to social distancing and cleaning protocols put in place for student and staff safety, we are not permitting drop-in pick-ups. All student pick-ups must be scheduled ahead of time with the Glass Studio Department Head, Gale Scott, via email at email@example.com.
WINTER Note: When entering the parking lot at New Street, please stay right and circle around the wooded area the long way round to locate the parking lot in front of the Glass Studio. At this time, the left fork may be roped off due to hazardous conditions (flooding and subsequent freezing) .

Get a taste of the ancient art of glassblowing in this fun one night course. In one evening you will learn about the history and process behind creating beautiful blown glass creations at the New Street Glass Studio. After safety and studio etiquette are discussed, students will watch a brief demonstration of this 2,000 year old art before diving in and making their very own paperweight from glass gathered out of a 2,100-degree furnace. Students will choose from several colors of heart murrine which they will pick up and encase in clear glass by gathering and shaping their own paperweight. No experience necessary. Materials: All materials are included.

A refund is given upon request in writing (Please email firstname.lastname@example.org) at least two business days prior to first class meeting. No refunds or credits are given for student absences.
When course or workshop is cancelled by the WCC, a full refund will be issued.
The Worcester Center for Crafts generally follows the Worcester State University(WSU) inclement weather policy relative to building closings and class cancellations. Cancellation announcements will be made on the Craft Center's Facebook Page Click here for cancellations

For evening Craft Center classes and weekend workshops, the offices will make an assessment of the weather conditions, and students will be notified by 2PM via email if a closure will continue through the evening or if the class will run as scheduled.
