In this 6 week course students will learn the basics of surface pattern design by creating mini masterpieces that will introduce the fundamentals of textile design. This course will dive into how repeats work, where to look for inspiration when creating a pattern and choosing a color palette. We will explore a variety of textile printing methods and their history. These methods include hand block printing, roller printing, stencil printing and screen printing. We’ll also learn about digital textile printing to reveal a real world look at how everything from the clothes we wear, to the bags we carry, to the sheets on our beds get those super cool patterns.
A refund is given upon request in writing at least two business days prior to first class meeting. No refunds or credits are given for student absences.
