Course Description

Add fibers to your jewelry making and discover the joys of weaving! Using common materials found at home combined with simple innovative techniques you'll create Faulous Fibers to enhance your jewelry. Learn how to make woven tapes on a homemade box loom; customized shapes on a pin loom; organic tapestries on a frame loom; and textile beads on a circular loom plus more.

Each class is supported with an instructional video ahead of time followed by a live interactive Zoom meeting with live demos, individual instruction, and lots of time for Q&A. There will be a private Facebook page to view the videos, share our work, check in with questions and build community. If not on Facebook, videos can be viewed with a link to a private google doc.
All levels welcome. Limited to 12 students

Class 1 – Box Looms and the fundamentals of weaving
Class 2 – Woven Shapes with Pin Looms
Class 3 – Frame Looms and circular looms
Class 4 – Peruvian scaffold weaving




There is No Kit available for this workshop. Registered students will receive a required tools/materials list with links.

The following materials are required to complete the proects:
- Firm box to make a box loom (approx. 4-6 in wide and 8-10 in. long), stiff cardboard (priority mail and Amazon boxes work well)
- Foam Core (8.5 x 11 in. sheet), Optional
- Double stick tape
- Tapestry Needle
- Weaving Needle
- 2 Fine tooth combs, they need to be the same length and have equal distance between tines
- Wide tooth comb (or a kitchen fork)
- Knitting needle (no smaller than 4 and up to size 9)
- Popsicle sticks or tongue depressors
- Duct tape

I, individually and on behalf of my heirs, successors, assigns and personal representatives, hereby agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Board of Higher Education, WCC, WSU and their employees, agents, and representatives from all liability for any damages, losses, or injuries (including death) I sustain to my person or property or both, including but not limited to any claims, demands, actions, causes of action, judgments, expenses and costs (including attorneys' fees) which arise out of, result from, occur during, or are connected in any manner with my intentional or negligent conduct during my participation in the Activity, including traveling to and from an event related to this Activity.

4. To the extent authorized by law, I, individually and on behalf of my heirs, successors, assigns and personal representatives, hereby agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Board of Higher Education, WCC, WSU and their employees, agents, and representatives from all liability, loss, damage or expense, including attorneys' fees, that they or any of them incur or sustain as a result of any claims, demands, actions, causes of action, damages, judgments, costs or expenses (including attorneys' fees) which arise out of, occur during, or are in any way connected with my intentional or negligent conduct during my participation in the Activity, including traveling to and from an event related to this Activity.

5. I agree that this consent and release is to be construed under the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and that if any portion hereof is held invalid, the balance hereof shall, notwithstanding, continue in full legal force and effect.
