This is a multi-level class for anyone interested in beadmaking with Moretti glass. The goal is to work on refining base shapes while paying close attention to surface decoration and color application. We will focus on stringer control, powder application, and the use of metals in our beads will be our focus. In addition, we will make it our goal to address design principles and artistic development as we break new ground within the ancient tradition of beadmaking. First time beadmakers will establish a solid understanding of the equipment, techniques and materials we use while learning to create beautiful glass beads. More advanced students should come to class ready to push themselves technically and creatively, and can expect to learn from one another during group critiques or discussions. Materials not included but are available for sale at the studio. All levels welcome, beginner to advanced.
Avoid wearing man made fibers and bring a bottle of water with you to class. All glass classes take place at the Worcester Center for Crafts' New Street Glass Studio, 35B New Street, Worcester, MA 01605
